Few days ago I was really shocked to find out that one of my t-shirt designs for DBH's daily competitions was featured in the Nopue Magazine in 2012. I had already given up on t-shirt designs, knowing that my skills back than were not good enough to be successful. In 2011 my computer crashed and I wasn't able to afford a new one right away. I no longer had the equipement to learn to use Adobe Illustrator.
These good news make me wanna re-think my decission. I have bought a used laptop and I'm looking forward to buy new software.
The past few weeks I was working on photoshop text effects (or layer styles). The inspiration came after trying out few free text effects that I made just for fun. But it was also a huge fun to create more and to see what I personally can contribute to the layer styles community. The result is a variety in design, from simple floral and guilloche motives to more complex and artistic creations. And each time I would create one set, I had the desire to do one more. I had not used any tutorials and I by no means had I wanted to copy other designers work. They have personally contributed awesome text effects and layer styles.
Free text effects, brushes and patterns can be found on Brusheezy. Premium text effects can be bought on Gumroad. Chek out "Freebies" and "Premium" pages in the navigation bar of my website for more information and download links.
